As the holidays approach, most of us look forward to the warmth and joy of gathering with family in a place we call home. However, for many families in our community, that sense of security and belonging is still out of reach. Bridges to Housing Stability is dedicated to helping families find a safe, stable place to live, especially during this season when home means so much.

The Williams family is one of the many families we've helped this year. At just 32 years old, Desiree Williams has experienced a lifetime of upheaval, moving between friends' and family's homes, extended-stay motels, and the Grassroots shelter with her partner and four children. After the birth of her youngest, Desiree faced new struggles with depression and housing instability, and she was left wondering where her family would go next.

Bridges stepped in at a crucial time. Working with our team, Desiree and her family found a home in an affordable apartment, just a short walk from her job at a local hospital. Desiree is now thriving and guaranteed the stability her children need to succeed through a voucher ensuring she won't have to pay more than 30% of her income toward rent.

• $500: Can help a Howard County family find a place to call home by covering all or part of their security deposit.
  
• $1,000: Can sponsor one month of housing stability services, ensuring families receive guidance, resources, and support from Bridges' dedicated team.
